No-Kill International™ Inc Standardized Shelter Platform Initiative

Standardized, Repeatable, Modular Shelter Development

No-Kill International™ Inc believes there is a better way to create life-saving shelter capacity.

While many modern shelters provide structures for animals, No-Kill International™ Inc believes significant opportunities exist to drastically reduce construction costs, dramatically accelerate deployment timelines, incorporate scalability, and greatly expand life-saving capacity through standardized, repeatable, modular shelter-development systems.

We believe that shelters capable of housing substantial numbers of animals do not require the extraordinary costs and lengthy construction timelines often associated with traditional one-off construction projects. By utilizing standardized designs, modular construction methods, repeatable engineering, and expansion-ready infrastructure, No-Kill International™ Inc believes future shelters can be developed more efficiently while maintaining high standards of animal care, safety, sanitation, and operational effectiveness.

Rather than designing each shelter as a completely unique project, No-Kill International™ Inc intends to explore the development of a standardized shelter platform that can be replicated, expanded, improved upon, and deployed repeatedly in communities where additional shelter capacity is needed and to replace existing kill shelters with No-Kill International™ Inc no-kill shelters. Every improvement made to the platform can then benefit future shelters, reduce duplication of effort and maximize the impact of every dollar invested.

The organization intends to evaluate factory-produced building components, modular construction systems, standardized operational layouts, and expansion-ready infrastructure to show how it can drastically reduce building costs and timelines while increasing the amount of shelter capacity.

Our objective: Bring shelter capacity online faster for as low as one-fortieth of the cost of some new shelters while at the same time sheltering more animals.

Every month saved, from start to finish, saves animals’ lives. Every dollar saved through efficient design and construction is that much less we require in donations and/or is money we can redirect to other lifesaving efforts, medical care, transportation, adoption programs, spay-and-neuter efforts, and future shelter expansion.

Detailed engineering studies, architectural evaluations, cost analyses, and operational reviews will be conducted before final designs are selected.
